Uber Technologies Inc, the multinational transportation company, said in a press release on Thursday that it’s introducing a five-week car trial challenge. According to the company, it will pay $1,000 to 175 selected participants across the United States and Canada who will give up their personal car to use other forms of transportation like walking, public transit, cycling, and ridesharing.
Uber said that for one to be qualified to participate in the trial, the participant must: complete the survey linked to this page; reside in Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Miami, San Francisco, Toronto, or Vancouver; be 18 or older; have legal permission to drive; have a vehicle which they use three times a week; have a bank card (requirement to take rides on Uber); have a smartphone and be willing to install mobile apps for this study; be comfortable communicating in English; and be comfortable taking short videos of themselves to document their experience in the study and sending them to Uber.
Only qualified participants will be considered, and any false information provided in any answer may result in the rejection of an application or removal from the trial, the company added.
Uber launches Uber Bubbles in France.
On May 29, 2024, Uber announced the launch of Uber Bubbles, the first ever champagne tour bookable directly in the Uber app in France. This was done in partnership with beloved champagne houses Perrier-Jouët and G.H. Mumm.

The company said that from June 1, reservations for the summer will be available in the Uber app and will be bookable 75 days to 24 hours in advance. Uber Bubbles will run on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the summer, from June 7 to August 17. The experience will cost a €200 flat fee, and can accommodate up to four guests, it added.
According to the report, to book Uber Bubbles, one will first Download the Uber app on your smartphone and open the app. Select the ‘Uber Bubbles’ icon from the home screen; Read about Uber Bubbles, and then choose an available date. Enter your pickup and dropoff locations. Make sure everything looks right, and click ‘Reserve Uber Bubbles’. Check your email to ensure you received a confirmation email. Within the confirmation email, click on the Google form and respond to each question to ensure the Maisons are ready for your reservation.
